You will be asked to write a 5 page paper on the book Daring Greatly. You have now read the The Gifts of Imperfection, and Daring Greatly. Dig deep and be in the arena! What does that mean to you and how are you going to incorporate everything that you have read not only in to your life but also when dealing with conflict. Again, be insightful, self reflective, and self-aware, while also backing up each “aha” moment with real life circumstances and points from the books.

Topic: Teaching Effective Presentation Skills
<
Instructions: This project requires you to develop a PowerPoint slide presentation for use as a training tool with managers and supervisors on how to prepare an effective presentation. The presentation should briefly outline (i.e., no more than 2-3 slides) how to start a presentation (that is attention-getting steps) an overview for the audience. You should focus the majority of your presentation (i.e., 8-10 slides) on what makes an effective presentation. Factors to consider in all forms of communication–Who is your audience? What is your message? Are you trying to persuade? Inform? The Week 5, Lesson 1 has a lot of great information to get you started, as well as the Forum in Week 4 (the Guy Kawasaki TED Talk).
<
Here are some guidelines to get started: You are going to brief a small group of newly graduated APUS Business Students on how to present an effective presentation. Your audience ages are anywhere from 20-60 years of age, with various business backgrounds, military experience, and even some small business owners.
<
There should be an introduction slide, a topic overview slide, 8-10 slides on presentation techniques, a conclusion slide and lastly a reference slide. Use the “notes” feature of PowerPoint to list your talking points on each slide for me to read what you would actually be saying.

Ethical nearsightedness is the inability to recognize and think about ethical is

Ethical nearsightedness is the inability to recognize and think about ethical issues. It is, also, referred to as moral myopia. An inability to see the dilemma in an ethical situation. It is often caused by the perceptual habit of looking at issues only from your personal viewpoint. Developing your moral imagination can help overcome ethical nearsightedness. For the midterm paper you will reflect upon the strengths and weaknesses of your ethical communication. You will describe your moral development as it relates to your ethical communication habits. The midterm will include the following sections:
<
<
Introduction: Includes an overview of the paper and a thesis statement that explains the major premise and analysis plan for the paper.
<
Ethical nearsightedness: Explain your thoughts on your personal ethical nearsightedness (or moral myopia). Discuss a situation where you communicated unethically due to moral myopia or were the victim of someone being ethical nearsighted.
<
Moral Development: Describe your moral development related to ethical communication using the information in chapter two of the course text. Explain what influences your moral development. This can be your faith, theories and other concepts learned in the course.
<
Ethical Communication Strengths and Weaknesses: Explain, compare and contrast your ethical communication strengths and weaknesses. Discuss how these strengths and weaknesses relate to your ethical nearsightedness and how you work to overcome them.
<
Tentativeness: Discuss how you will use all the sections above to be more tentative to your ethical communication. If you do not think you need to be more tentative to your ethical communication, explain how you will plan to continue ethical communication in your life. Use course concepts and theories (ex: Kant’s Categorical Imperative, relativism, etc) to support your plan for ethical tentativeness in the future.
<
Conclusion: Summarize the paper and close the essay. Make sure to restate your thesis.
